The Founder K.J. John had birthed an ambitious dream in the same year, to create state-of-the-art elevator and escalator systems for a burgeoning India. The limited demand for elevators and escalators at the time made for a small, rather niche market. But this did not deter him.
With great determination and equanimity, K. John chartered the brand's journey, strategically expanding the areas of business, going from a supplier to a full-fledged manufacturer of elevators and escalators.
Johnson Lifts was in fact the first company to manufacture escalators in India. The brand also set up one of the tallest elevator testing towers in the country. With a total manufacturing built-up area comprising over 310,000 sq. mts., Johnson Lifts produces over 12,000 units per annum.
Thanks to the foundation stones laid by K. John, Johnson Lifts continues to evolve and grow, and is now a USD 300+ million company, with a strong global presence and a phenomenal portfolio of prestigious projects to its name.
